Public administrations are committed to the sustainable restoration of our mines

The course New technologies applied in the restoration of mining exploitations Second Edition has taken place via online on the 24th, 25th and 26th of November. The 10th of December will take place the field visit to the Fortuna mine in Ademuz, restored in the framework of the LIFE TECMINE project.

The course, aimed mainly at technical staff of the Public Administration, has had 50 participants from different regions such as Andalusia, Aragon, Valencia, Balearic Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Madrid and Murcia, among others.

The three days of lectures, given by experts and professionals in the field of restoration, allowed the participants to deep down into the most relevant aspects involved in the mining restoration and the latest techniques being developed in Spain and Europe.

The great interest and the high participation of the assistants in the chat and the debates puts of relevance the important contribution of this course in the area of the public administration and, also, of the private sector.

The sustainable and ecological restoration of mining areas is possible thanks to the innovative techniques and knowledge that projects like LIFE TECMINE or LIFE RIBERMINE are bringing to the mining sector. It is important that public administration managers, responsible for approving and validating restoration projects, know the techniques, their operation and have the necessary tools to carry out adequate monitoring and follow-up of the restorations carried out.

The LIFE TECMINE project has offered different training actions aimed at all the stakeholders involved in mine restoration, in response to the training demands of the private and public sectors.
