The LIFE TECMINE Project is committed to the training of civil servants responsible for enforcing environmental legislation.

On the 24th, 25th and 26th of September, Valencia will host public administration professionals from different regions of Spain to receive specific training in the new geomorphological restoration techniques to be implemented in the LIFE TECMINE project.

The objective of this course is to train public officials in the GeoFluv™ method, so that they can carry out the evaluation and monitoring of mine restoration projects using this technique from now on.

The creator of the method GeoFluv™, Nicholas Bugosh, from the United States, will teach this official and regulated training. The characteristics and parameters of the method will be studied in depth, also the Natural Regrade™ software, that allows to design the new forms of the land, will be learned by the participants.

In additional, Greg Hancock, from the University of Newcastle (Australia), will introduce the Landscape Evolution Models (LEM), such as the SIBERIA model, which is being used on the GeoFluv™ designs, to evaluate the erosive component of the restoration.

This training represents a great step in the relationship between the private sector and the administration. An appropriate Regulatory Framework for its proper implementation must accompany the technical innovation applied by companies. This must be accompanied by a high specialization of the officials in charge of approving the technical solutions proposed by the companies.
